Eric Angel
General Manager
Eric lives in the territories of the Hupacasath and Tseshaht First Nations on Vancouver Island. As the general manager of the Salmon Parks Stewardship Society, he helps to implement the vision of the ha’wiih (hereditary leaders) of the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation to protect and restore old growth salmon ecosystems in the hahuuthli (chiefly territories).

Marsha Maquinna
Community Engagement Coordinator
Marsha, also known by her traditional name, Yahlawa Aksa, lives in her hahuułi (chiefly territories) in Gold River and is the daughter of a Tseshaht mother and Mowachaht/Muchalaht father. As community engagement coordinator at Salmon Parks, Marsha engages elders and community members, makes connections between them and amplifies their leadership role in stewardship of their lands and waters through their stories of home where they have, and continue to, fish, hunt and live in community.

Robin Yuen
RELAW Coordinator
Robin (She/Her) is of mixed European and Chinese ancestry and a grateful settler on the traditional territory of the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation (MMFN) in Gold River. As the Revitalizing Indigenous Land, Air, and Water Coordinator with Salmon Parks and the Nation, Robin is committed to her role in stewardship that is rooted in hereditary and cultural knowledge and values of the Mowachaht/Muchalaht people to restore their living laws and relationship with the land, water and air.

Gloria Maquinna
Technician Trainee
Born in Port Alberni to a mother from the Tseshaht Nation and father from the Mowachaht/Muchalaht Nation, Gloria lives in her hahuułi (chiefly territories) in Gold River. Being a field technician at Salmon Parks is a natural fit for the wilderness-loving Gloria who spent many childhood summers paddling in canoes as part of annual tribal quests, visiting neighbouring communities. From her first solo canoe quest at age 14 to annual camping trips in Yuqout, Gloria likes nothing more than to reconnect with the land and water that sustain, recharge and nourish her spirit and her community.

Mel Michael
Administrative Assistant
Mel was raised by her Mowachaht/Muchalaht mother and grandparents and has lived all her life in the ha-hahuułi (chiefly territories) in Gold River. As the Salmon Parks administrative assistant, Mel is responsible for organizing team meetings and travel details, processing invoices, maintaining the program inventory and assisting with community events. Being involved in the work of Salmon Parks is deepening her understanding of the delicate balance between nature and human activity and the need for stewardship of the land and waters that we depend on.
